Tickets for the twentieth edition of the Festival de Música Visual de Lanzarote (FMVL) are already available from Monday, August 4, through the official website of the Department of Culture culturalanzarote.com. The festival, which will take place from October 8 to 18, 2025, is once again betting on a program of artistic excellence, marked by sound innovation, scenic experimentation and fusion between music and the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote.

The Lanzarote Visual Music Festival, organized by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, celebrates its twentieth edition this year since its birth in 1989 by the artist Ildefonso Aguilar.

ARTISTS OF THIS EDITION

The musical program of this twentieth edition features prominent names of the contemporary international scene. Among them is the Norwegian saxophonist Mette Henriette, who will open the festival on October 9 at the Cueva de los Verdes with an intimate and experimental proposal; pianist Bugge Wesseltoft, pioneer of nu jazz and electronic fusion, who will perform in the Jameos del Agua Auditorium, along with legendary double bassist Arild Andersen and percussionist Sanskriti Shrestha; and the unclassifiable British artist Keeley Forsyth, who will bring her vocal and theatrical intensity to Jameos del Agua.

Also performing will be Shida Shahabi, a Swedish composer of Iranian origin whose minimalist piano pieces have placed her among the great names of contemporary music; the trio Alizulh, formed by Héctor Matacherry and Santi Pérez, who unite sound creation and visual art from an insular perspective; and Lajalada, alter ego of Gran Canaria artist Belén Álvarez Doreste, who explores new electronic and poetic landscapes.

COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES

One of the most singular proposals of this edition is ‘TIBATAJE, Afectos aurales de las Islas Canarias’, thanks to the special collaboration between the organization of the Festival and the Government of the Canary Islands. The sound installation by Pablo Sanz, which can be visited in the Cube room of the CIC El Almacén with free admission. The work offers an immersive experience based on field recordings made on several islands of the archipelago, including the Tajogaite area, and proposes an expanded, sensory and transformative listening of the Canary soundscapes.

In addition to concerts, the FMVL 2025 includes film proposals and meetings. One of the most special events will be the screening of the film “Last and First Men”, directed by musician Jóhann Jóhannsson and narrated by Tilda Swinton, at the Sala Buñuel of the CIC El Almacén. This cult visual and sound work dialogues with the landscapes and conceptual spirit of the festival.
